Seaman Schepps opened his first shop in 1904 and went on to become one of the most influential figures in American jewellery design. He became affectionately known as “America’s Court Jeweler” for his avant-garde aesthetic and his popularity with elite clients, including social figures, celebrities and collectors.

Unlike many traditional jewellers of his era, Schepps did not shy away from innovative materials and bold combinations — blending precious stones with shells, wood, exotic materials and vibrant colour contrasts to produce jewellery that was both expressive and sculptural.

Schepps’ New York boutiques, including long-standing locations on Park Avenue and now Madison Avenue, became hubs for his bold spirit and exceptional craftsmanship. Over more than a century, the brand has continued to celebrate creativity, colour and individuality in jewellery design.
